After the fangirl shipper in me got over the fact that Scully is all over Mulder, and then over the fact that the writers reduced Scully to a crying ninny in this episode, I was able to appreciate the ballad of poor Agent John (Terminator) Doggett, who has from the moment he met Scully just tried to look out for her the best way he knows. But he arrived late to this party, man and can’t really crash it. Still breaks my heart - Robert Patrick did great work here just with some quick facial expressions.
Also, I totally got uber excited when he got up off the floor and ran towards Krycek. I was sure he was going to terminate his ass. The man does look good running.
Doggett loves Scully the way Mulder loves “The Truth.” First and above all.

Great Heights: Understated Attraction
So I did some reading, and found that I wasn’t the only one who saw there was a certain kind of attraction between Dogget and Scully.
Or maybe it was just Robert Patrick and Gillian Anderson. I wouldn’t know anything like that. LOL
What I remember the most is how Scully would look at Dogget’s…
and this is the moment where i semi-ditched ‘shipping skinner/scully and jumped head first into the Doggship. i will always know the exact moment i went from “‘oh, ok, so i like the thought of DSR, but i don’t care either way’ to ‘omgomgomg, i think i love them together so much that i’m totally willing and able to ditch my current otp’”
as a dsr fan it still kind of “bothers me” (quotations mean not really) that i didn’t start ‘shipping doggett/scully at the end of “without” like some of the other first fans of dsr, but hey, i’m stubborn and didn’t want to ditch skinner/scully at doggett and scully’s first meeting.
Did you know… that Semper Fi is my most visited fan website? Go figure, more people are searching “Doggett/Scully” (and doggett scully fanfic, doggett loves scully, does doggett love scully, dsr fanfic) and finding my site than a few years ago. Makes me smile when I check on the visitor referral stats. It makes me wonder how many closeted Doggett/Scully relationship fans are out there.
